The GeGIS SERVICES

A number of services are provided by the GeGIS project. To summarise it may be said that different services are provided for different target groups.

Governments without a GIS system

  • are given a web interface with the GeGIS for a number of applications to consult and maintain available GIS levels;
  • can exchange user-friendly and standardised information with the various government with which they cooperate;
  • can look at the most recent geographical  information of other authorities as soon as it is available;
  • can make their own most up-to-date authentic source data available to other authorities.

Governments with a GIS system

  • can carry out interfacing with their own GIS systems;
  • can continue to process the available GIS levels via electronic offices;
  • can continue to use their own GIS system to update their own authentic source data and make them available to the GeGIS system.

All governments

  • can build electronic offices easily to engage in the exchange of data and making them available;
  • can use and integrate data levels of others in their application via this platform. It becomes easier to obtain these typical underlying levels;
  • can develop generic useful geo-data levels via web services and make them available;
  • can also integrate non-geographical source data, e.g., on persons and businesses via the MAGDA platform.
