The SBOV, the IBBT and the viWTA are important actors with regard to eGovernment. They concentrate on research.

Support centre for research relevant to policy – Administrative Organisation Flanders (SBOV)

Support centre for research relevant to policy - Administrative Organisation Flanders (SBOV) is a consortium recognised by the Flemish government (of the Catholic University of Leuven, the University of Antwerp, the University of Ghent and the Ghent Institute of Higher Education). The SBOV carries out research that is relevant to policy and collects data, focusing on the modernization of the administration and the policy. The cluster on new relations between citizens and policy is one of the four clusters which will be focused on in the next four years. The SBOV devotes attention to eGovernment. In fact, in the period 2001-2006 this was one of the research topics.

Interdisciplinary Institute for Broadband Technology (IBBT)

The IBBT is an institute established by the Flemish Government, which focuses on ICT and the development of broadband technology. In this research institute, e-government is one of the five focus fields.

Flemish Institute for Research into Scientific and Technological Aspects (viWTA )

The viWTA is a research institute affiliated to the Flemish Parliament. Its aim is to stimulate the social debate on science and technology. By observing the scientific debate and technology, the aim is to contribute to a good quality social debate and a decision-making process with good support in Flanders and outside.
Target groups are informed on this basis. On this site you can find information about this institute, news on the current projects and all sorts of publications on a broad fields of scientific and technological subjects.
